Whale research safari and Lyngen Alps bus tour
Become an explorer: track whales; take photos while listening for the captivating songs of the wild.
The whales have chosen to relocate north of Tromsø and we’ve decided to follow them! Travel with us to beautiful Skjervøy and help fund whale conservation projects by choosing Wild Seas.
Embark on a journey through scenic fjords on a cozy coach bus as we make our way to Skjervøy, this year’s whale hot spot! Upon arrival, we jump onboard our vessel with heated cabin/restroom and scour the seas for orcas and humpback whales. Enjoy a sandwich and warm-up with hot beverages.
Those who wish to sit back and enjoy the show are welcomed to, but guests who are eager to help with our research can assist us in collecting:
– Behavioral observations
– Underwater footage
– Vocal recordings
When the conditions are right, we deploy our hydrophone and listen to the enchanting songs of the whales. If we are lucky, we will get to see the lady aurora dancing in the sky as we make our way back to Tromsø.
Please ask your hotel to provide you with a breakfast box if you are unable to have breakfast in the restaurant.
We will now offer a regular whale watching trip with our open boat! Please note that the whale research program will only be running on our closed boat. Warm flotation suits are provided on this trip.
*Please be on time as the bus will leave at 6:00 a.m!
